We are looking for an experienced Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration Architect to lead large-scale database modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Oracle to Aurora PostgreSQL migration and modernization initiatives.
* Design domain-based database decomposition, schema normalization, and data architecture strategies.
* Consolidate duplicate tables/schemas into a single source of truth and define data ownership models.
* Drive PL/SQL to PL/pgSQL conversion for packages, procedures, triggers, and complex database logic.
* Architect API compatibility and integration layers for phased migration and service interoperability.
* Design CDC and replication strategies using tools like AWS DMS, Fivetran/HVR, or GoldenGate.
* Replace Oracle-specific components with PostgreSQL/AWS-native solutions.
* Establish secure database-to-cloud API connectivity and migration cutover plans with minimal downtime.
* Optimize Aurora PostgreSQL performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
* Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams for successful migration delivery.
* Mentor teams on database modernization, migration best practices, and domain-driven design.
Required Skills & Experience
* 7+ years of Oracle Database Administration, Development, or Architecture experience.
* Strong expertise in Oracle 12c/19c/21c and PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL.
* Hands‑on experience with AWS DMS, AWS SCT, and heterogeneous database migrations.
* Strong understanding of PL/SQL to PL/pgSQL conversion methodologies.
* Experience with schema redesign, normalization, performance tuning, RAC, and Data Guard.
* Knowledge of API integration patterns, CDC replication, and cloud‑native architectures.
* Experience with AWS cloud services and database modernization projects.
