Strategic Partnership Development Executive
### Job Description
American Airlines seeks a highly skilled Strategic Partnership Development Executive to join our Global Alliances team. As a key member of our Partnerships Division, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic airline partnership initiatives that enhance our network, customer experience, and loyalty program value.
### Key Responsibilities
* Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand and deepen airline partnerships, focusing on customer value, network growth, and competitive differentiation.
* Design innovative partnership strategies that enhance connectivity, improve the customer journey, and support program goals.
* Negotiate partnership agreements that deliver mutual benefit, ensuring alignment with AA's strategic priorities and creating long-term value for both parties.
* Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with airline partners across the region, serving as a key point of contact for strategic and operational matters.
* Provide guidance and oversight to team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring successful execution of responsibilities.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve friction points.
* Lead structured discussions with partners and internal stakeholders to uncover both known and emerging business needs.
* Document and validate business requirements based on stakeholder input, ensuring proposed solutions are targeted, feasible, and strategically sound.
* Assess the competitive landscape to identify trends, threats, and opportunities that inform partnership strategy and positioning.
* Define clear, measurable objectives for each partnership that align with AA's broader commercial and customer experience goals.
* Conduct strategic analysis, including forward- and backward-looking revenue modeling and performance tracking, to guide decision-making and optimize partnership value.
* Collaborate closely with the Commercial Planning & Analysis team to develop KPIs and evaluate the effectiveness of partnership initiatives.
### Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in strategy, finance, analytics, or a related field.
* Ability to travel as necessary.
* Fluently read, write, and speak English.
* Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field, previous experience within the airline industry, specifically in partnership strategy, and 2+ years of leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional projects.
* Skills include ability to think strategically, negotiate skillfully, digest complex details, and use sound judgment and initiative in making decisions; experience in financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting, including advanced Excel skills; demonstrated ability to solve complex analytical problems; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing, and complex environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate a strategic and tactical vision effectively and clearly to all levels within the organization, as well as with external agencies and business partners; proficiency within the Microsoft Office Suite; excellent presentation skills, with ability to handle complex topics comfortably; and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) a plus.
