We are seeking a confident and proactive HR Business Partner to support our expanding workforce and help shape the next stage of our people strategy.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to support the end‑to‑end HR function across a workforce of 160+ employees. The role will provide a high‑quality, flexible service responsive to the needs of the business, in line with legislative requirements and best practice.
Responsibilities
* Manage employment contracts and payroll compliance, interpret awards, and support development and maintenance of HR policies and contract frameworks in line with legislative requirements.
* Provide end‑to‑end HR support including employee lifecycle administration, contracts, and policy updates.
* Lead and manage workplace investigations into employee grievances, misconduct, or policy breaches.
* Prepare documentation and support managers in issuing formal warnings, managing disciplinary processes, and carrying out dismissals in accordance with Fair Work requirements.
* Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and off‑boarding processes, ensuring compliance with client and legislative requirements.
* Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring training, competencies, and licences are current.
* Provide employee support by responding to queries, assisting with benefits, and supporting performance and probation reviews.
* Support payroll processes by preparing documentation and liaising with the accounts team.
* Assist with HR audits, compliance checks, and reporting.
* Coordinate company events, initiatives, and wellness activities.
* Other HR projects and administrative tasks as directed by the Office Manager or Managing Director.
* Coordinate recruitment activities including advertising, screening, interviewing, and preparing employment offers to meet business staffing needs.
Skills & Experience
Background in Human Resources or HR administration, ideally within mining, construction, or resources, with a proactive, outcomes‑focused, and highly organised approach to managing a high workload with changing priorities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Certificate IV in Human Resource Management or Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (essential).
* 7+ years' experience in HR, ideally within mining, construction, or resources.
* Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, issuing formal warnings, and managing terminations/dismissals.
* Knowledge of Australian employment legislation, HR best practice, and payroll processes.
* Award understanding and interpretation.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
* Great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Experience in mining, construction, or traffic management (advantageous).
