A medium-sized to large enterprise located in North East Victoria is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the commercial / finance business operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
Identify process improvements and implement stronger financial controls.
Support business decision-making through analysis and reporting.
Mentor or supervise junior accounting staff (if applicable).
Skills & Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA qualification highly regarded).
Candidate must be able to demonstrate 5 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to work across teams.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
