Requirements
* Eligible to hold a current Blue Card.
* Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies where applicable.
* Live or work within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.
* Australian Permanent Resident Status.
* Manual C Class driver's licence.
Commitments
* Attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions.
* Obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment.
* Participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programmes including first aid/emergency care.
* Comply with QFES policies and procedures including code of conduct, safety and personal presentation standards.
Key Accountabilities
* Respond to fire and other emergency incidents while adhering to pre‑operational requirements.
* Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education activities.
* Maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and relevant training courses.
* Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
* Contribute to upkeep, hygiene, maintenance, and repair of station facilities and equipment.
* Support incident reporting and general station administration as required.
* Promote a positive team approach and comply with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
* Communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers and the general community.
* Adhere to organisational health principles and procedures, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
