The Opportunity
This leadership role drives library operations, programs and community engagement to deliver inclusive, high-quality services that connect people of all ages. You'll lead staff, shape collections and outreach, and build partnerships that promote literacy, digital inclusion and community wellbeing. This is a genuine opportunity to influence the future direction of our Library Service by reshaping programs, collections and engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities Include

* Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of inclusive library programs and engagement activities that promote literacy, creativity and digital inclusion.
* Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community groups and local organisations to strengthen outreach and community connection.
* Provide leadership and supervision to program and engagement staff, fostering a positive team culture and managing rosters and resources.
* Align collections and content with program themes and community interests in collaboration with acquisitions and collections staff.
* Contribute to strategic planning, reporting and promotion of library services, ensuring compliance with policies and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

* Proven experience in leading the design, delivery and evaluation of library collections and community programs that respond to local needs, including use of digital tools and project coordination.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with diverse community groups, schools, local organisations and internal stakeholders.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising staff, coordinating rosters and fostering a positive workplace culture.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage confidently with all age groups and represent the library in public forums.
* Sound knowledge of public library operations, supported by relevant qualifications or substantial experience in libraries, community development or related fields.
