About the Role
The successful candidate will assist the Developer Contribution Plan team in the preparation and assessment of new Developer Contribution Plans (DCP) and the ongoing administration of existing DCPs. The position requires a sound understanding of the relevant legislation, including the Planning and Development Act 2005 (and associated Regulations), the City of Wanneroo's District Planning Scheme No.2 (DPS No.2) and State Planning Policy 3.6 (SPP3.6). The role will assist with preparing the annual review of costs, scheme amendments and provide advice to internal and external clients in relation to DCP contribution quotations, prefunding of works and payment of compensation to affect landowners.
About you
Reporting to the Coordinator Scheme Contributions and under the broad supervision of the Senior Project Planner Development Contributions, this position will assist in the delivery of quality outcomes. The position will assist with the ongoing day-to-day tasks required to administer developer contribution arrangements by the City of Wanneroo. You will have a developed understanding of town planning legislation and procedures, the ability to engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders and meet strict reporting timeframes to ensure statutory compliance with the City of Wanneroo DPS No.2. The position requires a good understanding of town planning processes and/or experience in the assessment of Structure Plans, Development Applications and Subdivision proposals and a general understanding of operational budgets, capital works and financial systems.
Qualifications
* Qualification in urban and regional planning (minimum bachelor level), related discipline or equivalent experience;
* Demonstrated research and analysis skills;
* Ability to produce high quality documents which are user friendly and easy to understand;
* Good organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities;
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
