About the Role
The Case Manager is responsible for providing quality case management and resettlement assistance to eligible refugees and humanitarian entrants in the Humanitarian Settlement Program. The Case Manager will provide tailored case management to clients that recognises their individual strengths and needs, and assist new arrivals build the skills and knowledge they need to become self-reliant and active members of the community. Case Managers work autonomously within a collaborative and interdisciplinary team and works closely with other agencies and organisations to assist clients to achieve their outcomes.
You will bring:
* Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in providing high quality case management support.
* Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments and developing effective case plans and safety planning.
* Proven ability to identify service gaps and manage complex cases within a context of competing priorities
* Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced grief, loss, torture, and trauma and who experience ongoing safety risks
* A sound understanding of the social and political issues and needs impacting migrants in transition (including people seeking asylum, trafficked people and people who have been forced into marriage).
Mandatory Requirements
A Working with Children Check and a valid police clearance. A bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Applied Social Sciences, Counselling or another relevant allied health discipline.
