Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key technical subject matter expert, you will ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance.
You will use preventive and predictive maintenance processes, rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, and quickly restore equipment to service in support of successful operation of the supply chain facility.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work with other Target engineers and operational partners to optimize the performance and flow of material handling equipment and lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives.
You will serve as an escalated support resource during downtime events, ensuring proper processes and training procedures are implemented as part of root cause analysis.
Additionally, you will proactively monitor the overall health of the building's material handling equipment, serving as an expert who understands material flow optimization, system controls logic, and facilitates and trains effective troubleshooting techniques.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct technical interviews for internal and external technician candidates, evaluate technical skills and abilities, and train and coach internal technicians.
* Support training plan development and progress follow-up.
* Maintain thorough knowledge and facilitate site training on appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment.
As a self-starter, you should be able to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, train, and coach across various resources and scenarios, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and working well under pressure.

About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Two or four-year degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
* Available to work all days and shifts (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays).
* Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
* Experience with installing and maintaining many types of software and hardware.
Additionally, extensive experience in areas such as automated conveyor systems and controls, work order management, preventive/predictive maintenance procedures, blueprint and schematic reading, industrial electrical, HMI interfaces and programming, industrial controls, industrial electronics, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs, server-based controls, and National Electrical Code (NEC) is desired.
