Senior Lawyer Civil (Urgent Applications)
Expressions of interest are sought for a fixed term secondment to the position of Senior Lawyer Civil (Urgent Applications) to 30 June 2026.
This role will work closely with other lawyers in the Civil team of the Supreme Court Registry to perform the following tasks:
* Assessing the appropriateness and urgency of Practice Court applications, liaise with chambers and parties to coordinate listings
* Preparing brief case summaries for Practice Court applications, monitor the matters as they progress, and refer to specialist lists when appropriate
* Contributing to updating policy and procedure documents relating to urgent applications, identify issues and develop and implement improvements
* Along with other lawyers, take responsibility for the after-hours duty phone. This commitment will be less than was the case for the former role of Practice Court Coordinator and is shared evenly amongst the group.
A law degree is essential along with experience working in a fast-paced environment in a team setting.
