**POSITION PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE**
The position of Creative Industries**Economic Outcome Project Officer, within the
Economy, Visitation and Place Branch will drive improved productivity for those working
in the Creative Industries across the Blue Mountains. The position ensures delivery of the
Creative Industry program one of Council’s priority projects, as identified in the Economic
Development and Tourism Strategy, adopted by Council in July 2021.
The position assists senior officers within the economic development program area in the
development and implementation of projects, strategies and policies that support and
encourage greater prosperity and economic viability for Creatives within the Blue
Mountains Local Government Area, in line with Council’s corporate goals and priorities.

**Key External Relationships**:Creative business owners, service providers,
contractors, key representatives of Chambers of
Commerce, residents, and other peak economic
development and creative business organisations.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Contribute to help Council deliver its sustainability goals.
**Project Support**
- Provide organisational support to senior officers undertaking strategic Creative
industry work;
- Provide and implement a program for monetising MTNS MADE products and services
on a fee-for-service model which will contribute to the financial sustainability of the
Creative Industries service.
- Assist in the preparation of policies and strategies for improved economic outcomes
for Creatives in the City including background studies, research and data analysis;
- Assist with implementing economic outcomes related actions for Creatives within
Council’s operational plan; and
- Provide assistance in the ongoing monitoring of outcomes relating to relevant
strategies, policies and initiatives associated with Creative Industry economic
outcomes.
**Customer Service and Stakeholder Consultation**
- Present a positive image for Council and support the team with verbal and written
responses to internal and external enquiries related to economic outcomes;
- Liaise with staff at all levels and other key customers and contacts to coordinate or
follow-up on a range of activities;
- Undertake community consultation activities with key external stakeholders and
manage information arising from these consultations;
- Provide advice as directed to various state and local organisation in relation to
Creative industry Economic development matters;
- Facilitate industry workshops, and focus groups, as appropriate and within available
resources;
- Facilitating team-oriented initiatives and projects to advance industry development
- Coordinate administration tasks for MTNS MADE and the Creative Industries Cluster
- Managing and coordinate the MTNS MADE online database and the Creative
Industries CRM database
- Grow and maintain Industry and Government stakeholder liaison, within available
resources
- Plan and coordinate industry networking events (Salons and the like)
- Develop and implement a dynamic marketing and communications strategy under the
regional brand (MTNS MADE) to position the Blue Mountains as a creative industry
hot spot (attracting clients and investors) and grow cluster engagement (attracting
involvement of the local industry)
- Manage and coordinate all MTNS MADE social media platforms (such as Facebook
and Instagram) including content plans and production, content development and
reporting
**General Monitoring and Reporting**
- Reporting to Council and ELT as required via Program Leader.
- Monitor and provide feedback on Program Area budgets including project budgets /
plans etc;
- Assist in key monitoring and reporting processes.
