POSITION PURPOSE
The Disability Support Worker provides high-quality, person-centred support that enhances the emotional, social and daily living needs of the client.
This role is ideal for someone who values longer shifts, deeper connection, and support that feels less like "service delivery" and more like empowering someone's everyday life.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

* Provide care that leads to meaningful, high-quality outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PERSONAL SUPPORT
* Create a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
* Assist with personal care including showering, dressing, feeding, toileting and hygiene.
* Support transport, activities, recreation and community participation.
* Contribute to the development and review of the client's individual care plan.
* Encourage and build independent living skills.
* Respect and protect the client's rights, dignity and choices.
* Report concerns immediately and safeguard wellbeing at all times.
* Maintain the client's connection to important people, places and routines.
* Work in a culturally respectful way with people from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and diverse backgrounds.
TEAM ROLE
* Work in alignment with Hot Rod Betty's values, policies and client-owned service model.
* Communicate and collaborate with family members and other support staff.
* Complete rostered duties reliably and professionally.
* Assist with household tasks including cleaning, meal prep, shopping and basic home/yard maintenance.
* Maintain accurate documentation (incident reports, hazards, logs etc.).
* Keep all personal and sensitive information private and secure.
* Follow all administrative, financial and WH&S procedures.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal applicant will demonstrate:
* Willingness to provide personal care in a home or community environment.
* Understanding of safe work practices and WH&S responsibilities.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Alignment with Hot Rod Betty's purpose, values and approach to support.
* Qualifications in disability, community services or equivalent — or a strong willingness to learn.
* Availability for overnight, weekend, public holiday and home-based support shifts.

MUST POSSESS OR BE WILLING TO OBTAIN
* Valid SA Driver's Licence.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* NDIS Worker Check.
* Working With Children Check.
* Two impeccable, relevant references.
