We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller, Developments to lead the finance function for a large-scale residential property development portfolio.
This is a senior leadership role partnering closely with executive stakeholders to drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and ensure strong governance across multiple development projects.
About the Role
Reporting to the GM of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, forecasting, and commercial support across a diverse portfolio of land subdivision and residential development projects.
You will play a critical role in providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial information, while partnering with development, construction, and sales teams to optimise project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of insights
* Oversee project cost tracking, feasibility analysis, and profit recognition
* Drive short, medium, and long-term cash flow and EBIT forecasting
* Support funding strategies, refinancing, and external financier relationships
* Partner with development teams to monitor budgets, costs, and project performance
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
* Provide strategic input on acquisitions, divestments, and new project opportunities
* Maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks
* Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
* Collaborate with senior stakeholders across development, operations, and executive leadership
About You
You are a commercially minded finance leader with deep experience in property development or a related industry. You bring a strong blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking, along with the ability to influence and partner across the business.
Key requirements include
* CA/CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
* 10+ years' experience in a commercial finance environment
* Strong financial modelling and forecasting capability
* Experience in development or project-based accounting (highly regarded)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and mentor teams
