Job Title: Project Officer
About the Role
The Indigenous Research Project Officer will play a key role in providing coordination and administrative support for a national Indigenous Science initiative. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a genuine interest in Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural engagement.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide high-level coordination, administrative, and project management support across all stages of the Indigenous Science initiative.
* Support the operation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reference and advisory groups.
* Assist in building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities and organisations.
* Contribute to the development of culturally appropriate data practices by supporting awareness of Indigenous Data Sovereignty.
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in project coordination or administrative support.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine interest in Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural engagement.
* Experience working in or supporting project governance structures.
Eligibility
* This position is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people with Australian Citizenship.
* The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence to confirm their identity as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
