Job Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef to join our team at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation for patients, staff, the cafeteria, and special events. They will focus on delivering high-quality hospital food production and maintaining cleanliness in line with Food Safety Plan, HACCP standards, and hospital policy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation and handling of cold larder products
* Preparation and cooking of meals for patients and staff
* Understanding patient dietary requirements and preferences
* Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
* Washing and cleaning down equipment
* Daily completion of food safety log sheets
* Compliance with food safety and HACCP regulations
* Ordering and stocking of food and supplies
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate in Commercial Cooking
* Minimum 12 months experience as a Chef in a healthcare setting
* Ability to cater to diverse patient dietary needs and preferences
* Thorough understanding of allergy management practices
* Excellent work ethic, communication skills, and teamwork ability
* Good customer service and time management skills
* Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse workplace
