About the Position
We are seeking a practical, field-based professional to help keep their test facilities and demonstration systems running smoothly. In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day maintenance of specialised hardware, manage system readiness, and support live trials and customer demonstrations. Reporting to the Testing and Evaluation Lead, you'll collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure every site operates safely, reliably, and to a high technical standard.
Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
Carry out hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting across electronic, communication, and IT systems.
Configure networking components (routing, switching, VLANs) and perform system updates and calibrations.
Inspect and maintain site structures and mounts, ensuring all equipment is secure, weather-proof, and compliant with safety standards.
Monitor energy systems such as solar setups, batteries, and backup generators, ensuring correct operation and storage.
Maintain accurate technical records, service logs, and inventory data.
Testing & Field Work
Set up and operate test instruments and data capture tools for system verification and analysis.
Collect structured performance data, including images and videos, to support technical reporting.
Assist in on-site demonstrations and operator training sessions.
Coordinate closely with test, engineering, and field operations teams.
Communicate status updates clearly and raise potential issues early.
Represent the company professionally during field activities and customer interactions.
Skills and Experience
Technical background in electronics, networking, computer science or telecommunications.
Working knowledge of Linux systems and basic IT infrastructure.
Proven hands-on ability with installation, maintenance, and repair of hardware systems.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to work both independently and in a team.
Ability to operate safely and efficiently in outdoor or remote environments.
Experience in defence, aerospace, or high-security technology sectors.
Familiarity with RF systems, sensors, or integrated electronic systems.
Prior involvement in testing, demonstrations, or user training events.
