**The Opportunity**:

- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a **Project Officer (Permanent)** to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Team Leader Projects, you will be responsible for project managing the design, tender, and construction phases of a range of infrastructure projects.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- To manage consultants and/or contractors in the design, tender and construction phases of the position's projects.
- To manage the tender process as outlined in the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 and Council policies and standard working procedures.
- Process milestone reports, grant acquittals and any other project reporting requirements set by external funding bodies over the course of a set project.
- Ensure that the position's projects are completed within an agreed budget and to an agreed level of quality.
- Prepare Council reports
- Undertake any project as directed by the supervising Divisional Manager

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project or Contract Management or related discipline from an Australian University or relevant overseas qualifications suitable for graduate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
- Relevant work-related experience in the field of civil engineering, including demonstrated experience in managing consultants, contracts and infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated Project Management & Contract Management experience
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including Local Government Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Roads Act and related legislation, regulations and codes.
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Project or similar.
- Demonstrated high level of communication abilities/skills
- Demonstrated commitment to honesty and integrity
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety
