Job Description:
Melbourne Airport seeks a dedicated individual to maintain the safety and compliance of the airport for aircraft operations as an Airside Safety Officer. The successful candidate will work alongside skilled senior officers, proactively conducting daily serviceability inspections and engaging with stakeholders while adhering to airport guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Meeting team KPIs by completing daily serviceability inspections and audits to high standards.
* Enforcing airfield operational policies and procedures.
* Participating in required training and ensuring ongoing competency.
* Ensuring safe and efficient airfield operations through stakeholder education.
* Responding to airport accidents/incidents according to the Airport Emergency Plan.
* Maintaining safety obligations within a Just Culture environment.
* Assisting senior officers with safety initiatives and portfolios.
Requirements:
* Experience working collaboratively in an airside environment.
* A basic understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
* A passion for customer service and strong communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience in fast-paced shift work and highly regulated environments.
* Excellent decision-making and situational awareness.
* Knowledge of airfield policies and procedures and a basic understanding of CASA MOS Part 139.
* Experience using reporting systems and computer skills (MS Office suite).
* A willingness to learn and work in a dynamic team.
