Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through detailed design and into construction support. Based in the Brisbane office, this role is responsible for coordinating engineering activities, managing technical scope, supporting project controls, and interfacing with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to an experienced engineer with strong EPCM consulting experience and a solid understanding of Australian engineering standards and project execution practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute assigned engineering projects or work packages through all phases of the project lifecycle (concept, FEED, detailed design, procurement, and construction support).
* Support development and maintenance of project schedules, cost forecasts, and progress reporting.
* Coordinate engineering deliverables across multiple disciplines to meet project milestones.
* Identify project risks and opportunities and support mitigation strategies.
* Provide senior-level technical oversight and guidance within own discipline and across interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
* Review and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
* Resolve technical issues and support constructability and operability reviews.
* Ensure engineering deliverables comply with Australian standards, client specifications, and Equinox engineering procedures.
* Act as a key technical interface with clients for assigned projects.
* Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and progress updates.
* Interface with vendors and suppliers to support technical evaluations and procurement activities.
* Maintain strong working relationships to support repeat business and project success.
* Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers and designers.
* Support multidisciplinary coordination within the Brisbane office and with other Equinox offices.
* Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
* Promote and adhere to Equinox's HSEQ policies and project requirements.
* Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety reviews as required.
* Ensure quality assurance and document control processes are followed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
* 10+ years of engineering experience, preferably within an EPCM or consulting environment.
* Proven experience delivering engineering projects within the energy, resources, or industrial sectors.
* Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
* CPEng (Engineers Australia) or working toward CPEng is preferred.
* Brownfield project experience is highly regarded.
