About the Role
This position plays a key role in carrying out water meter readings in an efficient and accurate manner, whilst maintaining timely and accurate water meter records for the organisation.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven ability to read, write and perform numerical calculations of a standard commensurate with the requirements of the position.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft systems as well as computer-based programs such as water billing and meter reading management systems or able to quickly gain such knowledge.
Knowledge of the customer service contract and relevant legislation relating to water use and regulations.
Knowledge of Council's code of conduct for customer service responsibilities and how to deal with dangerous dogs.
Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of authorised entry conditions and water billing software.
Knowledge of the Townsville region to enable timely reads and ability to develop efficient re-sequencing of reading routes.
The ability to analyse basic information on the handheld computer devices and record applicable property information relevant to water billing requirements.
Demonstrated experience working under limited supervision.
Effective time management and efficiency skills.
Demonstrated quality Customer Service, conflict resolution and negotiation skills commensurate with this classification level.
High tolerance of animals, particularly dogs.
Current Queensland "C" class driver's licence.
