Our Team Our Above Water Systems team provides engineering & maintenance services to Royal Australian Navy vessels and commercial ships, supporting Australia’s sovereign capability. We have ongoing training programs and a team of over 500 people.
Role location Garden Island, NSW (Gadigal land).
Role overview This two-year fixed-term Traineeship involves a rotation across PMO functions including Planning & Scheduling, Contract and Subcontract Management, Bids & Estimates, Project Management and Production Management. You will gain practical experience through work experience while pursuing your formal studies.
Responsibilities
- Help manage projects and production tasks during the execution phase.
- Learn to use Primavera software to create and update project timelines, bids, and work plans.
- Support the team with contracts for AWS bids and projects, including performance-based and collaborative agreements.
- Help prepare and organize bids for both internal and external clients.
- Assist in identifying and coordinating project risks.
- Help analyse staffing needs and provide insights for AWS workforce planning.
About You
- Study for a TAFE or tertiary qualification in Project Management
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrate computer literacy including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Able to treat current situations and change as opportunities for learning and growth
- Committed to complying with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures

- A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
