**The Role**
The Knowledge and Policy Officer role sits within Training Force, Navy - Business Optimisation team whose primary purpose is to provide ongoing development and review of Training Force Systems enabling all personnel to deliver outcomes in the most effective manner to achieve Training Force’s mission.
The team optimise strategies and practices to find efficient ways of working through improved workflows, frameworks and systems.
You will assist to oversee the development, control and management of knowledge management systems and tools across all levels of Training Force, using a hands-on, business partnering approach.
In this position, you will play a key role in implementing and maintaining knowledge systems, frameworks and tools, as well as strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills with a strong focus on achieving best practice and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Deputy Director Business Optimisation, you will assist in driving the automation of the business processes towards ongoing improvement of work practices and Training Force’s approach to knowledge management.
You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be able to work in a small team in a multidisciplinary workplace and roles with competing priorities.
Additionally, you will provide detailed professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
**About our Team**
The Business Optimisation Team sits within the Business Enterprise Management Directorate at Navy Training Force Headquarters. The team provides business optimisation services to Training Force to enable timely, efficient and accurate decision-making.
The team aims to identify and implement new methods and processes that seek to redesign and streamline, ensuring a continual improvement cycle is in place. This role reports to the Deputy Director Business Optimisation and is located at Training Force Headquarters, Campbell Park.
**Desirable Qualification, Experience or Training**
The Knowledge and Policy Officer will be accountable for shaping Training Force's approach to knowledge management through the development, implementation, and management of the following:
- Business Process Management - The development, management and maintenance of the Training Force Business Management System (BMS) (Holocentric and Modelpedia);
- Business Process Improvement - The identification, prioritisation and execution of the Training Force Business Process Improvement System;
- Business Process Automation - The identification, prioritisation and execution of Business Process Automation opportunities to improve the delivery of Training Force Business Processes;
- Knowledge Management (KM) Framework - Providing ongoing KM expertise and support for the development of tools to support the methodology;
- Policy Management (N Library) - Provide advice and support towards to the identification, development and maintenance of policy and procedures and the use of the N Library and;
- Objective Management - Facilitate and support the development and maintenance of Objective folders structures and rules at all levels across Training Force.
The Knowledge and Policy Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex information and knowledge management work within an integrated workforce. They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within the work unit.
They will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
