**The Opportunity**
Boeing Defence Australia's Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Program is responsible for the development and support of the Australian Navy and Army Joint Helicopter School, featuring the EC135 aircraft and a suite of synthetic training devices.
We are now recruiting for an Aircraft Life Support Equipment Technician, to help us deliver this premier Australian Defence Force training capability.
Based on the NSW South Coast, this role is located in **Nowra**. Located on the banks of the Shoalhaven River, Nowra is a major centre of the Shoalhaven region known unique character with a spectacular natural environment, growing population and bustling economy. On the doorstep of the pristine waters of Jervis Bay the Shoalhaven's beautiful natural environment plays a central role in the quality of life of the local community.
ALSE Maintenance Staff perform a significant role in preserving aircrew and passenger safety by maintaining and certifying for maintenance, inspection, fitment and acceptance of individually issued ALSE equipment.
The role is for a technician level with the opportunity of advancement to Maintenance Certifier (Supervisor) with demonstrated competence and aptitude.
The team operates on a rotating shift pattern of day and afternoon shift. Afternoon shift hours worked attracts an additional shift loading allowance.
Rates are paid in line with the BDA trades Enterprise Agreement.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform maintenance of HATS life support equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
- Manufacture, inspect, repair, test and fitting of aeronautical life support equipment and têxtile components.
- Procurement, packaging, storage and identification of safety and life support equipment.
- Explosive ordnance handling and inspection of rescue pyrotechnics.
- Deliver instruction on the operation of personal flying equipment.
- Provide training and safety briefs to aircrew and passengers on aeronautical safety and survival equipment.
**Experience/ Qualification**
- Certificate III in Aircraft Life Support and Furnishing - MEA30318 (or equivalent)
- Experience in a Military Rotary operational environment would be an advantage
- Experience as an Maintenance Certifier would be an advantage
- Proficient in the use of maintenance management systems
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
- The ability to work on a rotating shift pattern
