Job Title:
GIS Specialist
The role of GIS Specialist involves maintaining and supporting the Council's Geographic Information System (GIS) and Land Information System (LIS), ensuring data accuracy and timely updates. The specialist will work with spatial systems, coordinate property addressing, road and place naming, liaise with external agencies, produce maps, respond to enquiries, and conduct field inspections for data collection.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maintenance of cadastre, including processing subdivisions and plan registrations, property address numbers, updating of Deposited Plan Register.
* Deposited Plans - obtaining copies, registering images in Council's GIS, allocation of urban and rural numbers, issuance of letters or notices to customers, updating of GIS datasets, ordering of new plates and numbers, checking against subdivisions.
* Street numbering - allocation of urban and rural numbers, issuance of letters or notices to customers, updating of GIS datasets, ordering of new plates and numbers, checking against subdivisions.
Key requirements include a diploma in a field covering spatial analysis, survey drafting, town planning/urban design mapping, environmental mapping or equivalent experience, effective time management and prioritisation skills, and strong attention to detail.
