Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic customer focused environment providing front line access services to a diverse range of stakeholders supporting the operations of Parliament.

This role will be suitable for a person with the confidence and capability to coordinate multiple moving parts, an eye for detail and strong communications skills.

As a member of the Pass office leadership team, you will display the parliamentary values, and have demonstrated capability in engaging with and motivating staff to deliver high-quality, accurate access administration in compliance with APH Private Area Access Policy.

A knowledge of identity card administration and systems is preferred but not necessary.

Job Specific Requirements

* Successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Duty Statement

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the specified classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Administering Australian Parliament House Access Cards in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, including drafting and sending correspondence, conducting quality assurance records management, and completing data entry into the card management system.
* Providing and supporting excellence in customer service to a range of internal and external stakeholders including at senior levels (heads of departments, parliamentarians and their staff).
* Contributing and leading the daily operations of the Security Pass Office by identifying consumable stock requirements and completing stocktaking and associated procurement activities, coaching and mentoring team members and identifying training needs for individuals, maintaining a safe and healthy workspace including identifying any workplace, health or safety issues, and administering team rostering.
* Completing reports and associated administration for 180 day deactivations, card expiry, visitor sheets, after‐hours access and other tasks as requested.

Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice.

Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated ability to work in a customer focused environment, and to respond effectively under pressure.
* Sound communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer/client service.
* Demonstrated ability in values based leadership of a small team environment to meet organisational and strategic objectives.
* Experience in the operation of computer systems and the use of database software.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policy.

Salary

Currently, the salary range for this position is $83,415 - $90,639 per annum.
