About the Role
We are looking for a Data Compliance Analyst to assist the planning, delivery and reporting of data compliance and privacy activities. This role will partner with IT, data roles, and key business stakeholders (including Data Owners, Stewards, SMEs, client teams, and vendors) to uplift data maturity and embed a strong data compliance culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Support delivery of data compliance initiatives in line with the Data Strategy and Roadmap.
* Assist with interpreting and applying compliance obligations (legislative, regulatory, contractual and internal) across Australian and relevant international jurisdictions.
* Help design and embed data compliance frameworks including policies, standards, procedures, tools, and operating models.
* Integrate data compliance requirements into projects, systems, reporting and other business processes.
* Maintain key data compliance and privacy registers, including Data Breach, Retention & Destruction, and Legal Hold registers.
* Support risk assessments, data compliance issue management, personal information access requests and governance reporting, including issue investigations and remediation.
* Support preparation and delivery of data compliance and privacy training, including organisation wide training sessions and learning modules.
About You
The successful candidate has exposure to project delivery environments, a good foundational understanding of data compliance concepts and general familiarity with information security concepts.
Combined with:
* Relevant tertiary qualification in business, law, data, information management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Awareness of the data lifecycle and common data management frameworks or principles (i.e. Privacy by Design).
* Awareness of issue management, including tracking, remediation and reporting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a curious and enquiring mindset.
* Ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment, with support as needed.
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
* Motivated self-starter with a strong willingness to learn.
