What’s the role?
10. Provide clients with comprehensive assessment and screening, counselling, brief intervention, advocacy, information and education
11. Display a strength based, client centered, culturally appropriate, and welcoming approach to clients
12. In the course of other duties, establish networks and relationships with rural and urban-based communities and organisations that benefit the people accessing our service.
13. Ensure all documentation and records are maintained in accordance with established policy and legislative requirements to ensure continuity of client care and provide reports as required by management.
Is this the right role for you?
14. Tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma in Counselling) or higher qualifications in a related field such as Social Work or Psychology
15. Demonstrated experience working within a specific therapeutic framework
16. Ability to remain up to date with current drug and alcohol best practice and to provide information and support to clients.
17. Demonstrated ability to modify communication styles and techniques to meet client’s needs (multilingual ability an advantage)
18. Understand and adhere to the legislative requirements of the role and conscious of and respectful of the exposure to personal and confidential information
19. Good written communication, administrative and documentation skills
20. Demonstrated computer skills including MS Suite, email, data collection/input
21. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
22. Ability to manage own workload and work independently
23. Current NT Driver’s License, police clearance and ochre card (or willingness to obtain)
may be able to offer to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
