About the Role:

Reporting to: Cost Control Manager
Employment Type: 12‐Month Fixed Term, Full‐Time (Parental Leave Cover)
Work Location: South Wharf, Melbourne

The Cost Controller is responsible for preparing and analysing the Opex reports, monitoring cost trends, and investigating unusual cost movements. The successful candidate will produce monthly surcharge and Agility reports, follow up on action items from Opex meetings, and liaise with stakeholders to understand cost variances.

The role also supports cost optimisation initiatives, benchmarking activities across Oceania Agencies, and provides financial analysis and ad‐hoc support to the Cost Control Manager, CFO, and Financial Controllers.

Role and responsibilities will include:
* Prepare monthly regional Agility reports for management.
* Analyse operating expenditure trends, report unusual variances, and follow up on action items.
* Produce monthly operational KPI (extra costs) reports.
* Support cost control and benchmarking exercises across regional agencies.
* Monitor and ensure timely updates of cost savings and revenue optimisation initiatives in reporting tools.
* Provide financial analysis and support to departments and senior finance leaders as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Statistics, Management Accounting, or a related discipline; CPA/CA preferred.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in financial or operational analysis, focusing on revenue and cost drivers.
* Strong knowledge of operational cost structures and experience with cost control or cost reduction initiatives; exposure to advanced ERP/reporting tools is advantageous.
* Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint.
* Excellent analytical, numerical, and decision‐making skills, with understanding of business fundamentals.
* Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, able to interact effectively with all levels, including senior management.
* Flexible, organised, and able to work in a multi‐skilled team environment, meeting deadlines under pressure.
Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the entire duration of the contract.
New Zealand citizens planning to relocate permanently to Melbourne, Australia, are more than welcome to apply.
