Support Worker – Complex Care
Location: CambridgeHours: 42 per weekShifts: Sponsorship: Not available
About the Service
This is a specialist nursing‐led home supporting adults with complex neurological conditions and associated complex care needs. Most residents are living with long‐term, life‐changing conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, tracheostomies, spinal injuries and neurological conditions.
The focus is high‐quality, stable, long‐term clinical support aimed at maintaining health, preventing hospital admissions, and ensuring comfort, dignity and safety.
Each person receives 2:1 support, and the home has respiratory suction, enteral feeding, tracheostomy care and other clinical equipment on site. This makes it an excellent environment for support workers who are genuinely interested in the clinical side of care and want to build skills in complex needs.
The Role
* Provide hands‐on support with complex health needs
* Monitor the people we support, responding calmly and professionally to any changes or emergencies.
* Support with personal care, repositioning and comfort.
* Complete accurate records and follow individual care plans.
* Work closely with the nursing team to maintain each person's health and reduce avoidable hospital visits.
* Carry out household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and preparing the environment for the next day.
This role is ideal for someone who is caring, hardworking, diligent and able to remain calm under pressure. It suits people who may feel limited in a standard care home and want a more clinical, hands‐on, meaningful role.
