We are seeking Manager Energy Network Regulation to join the EUAA team.

This is a
Full Time role based in Melbourne (or Sydney)
with a hybrid working environment.

PURPOSE

The Manager Energy Network Regulation is a key leadership position within the EUAA that will be responsible for representing the organisation in a range of network regulation and network revenue re-set processes. It will play a key role in influencing policy and regulatory development and ensure strategic goals of the EUAA are met within a transforming energy sector.

Key responsibilities include representing the EUAA on various energy network customer councils and revenue re-set groups, analysing regulatory changes through a customer lens, liaising with key industry stakeholders, overseeing regulatory submissions and advocacy materials, and driving collaboration on energy network transformation initiatives.

Essential skills involve a sound understanding of and experience in energy network regulation, strong leadership, strategic thinking, excellent written and communication, stakeholder management, and analytical capabilities to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESULT AREAS

Regulatory & Policy Leadership:

In close collaboration with the EUAA policy and regulation team, EUAA members and external stakeholders, contribute to regulatory and policy development within the EUAA

Lead the drafting of submissions to both propose regulatory changes or to respond to proposed regulatory changes, ensuring alignment with EUAA objectives and member needs.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Liaise with EUAA members, corporate partners, regulatory agencies and other industry partners to build consensus and advocate for strategic goals.

Represent the interests of EUAA members on various network service provider (gas and electricity) customer councils, revenue re-set groups and other specific engagement as required.

Strategic Analysis:

Independently analyse regulatory changes and market shifts to identify opportunities and challenges, informing strategic direction.

Advocacy & Communications:

Develop and articulate regulatory positions, produce advocacy materials, and oversee external communications to influence key stakeholders and the public. The role will also be a lead contributor to the regular policy committee report that is provided to EUAA members.

SKILLS & JUDGMENTS

Industry experience and technical knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of energy network regulations with particular focus on periodic network revenue re-set process and other AER functions.

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to identify and focus on key strategic issues in the complex energy landscape.

Leadership:

Effective and inclusive leadership capabilities to help guide and inform the EUAA policy and regulation team and EUAA members.

Analytical Skills:

Strong capability to analyse complex regulatory and commercial data and translate it into actionable strategies.

Communication & Influencing:

Excellent written and verbal communication, with proven experience in stakeholder management and influencing outcomes.

Stakeholder Management:

Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior industry figures, policymakers, and community groups.

Qualification and Experience

* Energy industry experience, including working for a major energy provider or regulated network business, regulatory or market body or in energy strategy or procurement role with a large commercial and industrial customer
* Experience with energy network regulation, including working for a regulated network business, regulatory or market body or as a consumer or business representative
* Tertiary qualifications in economics or engineering disciplines

· Working in a complex regulatory and policy landscape where constant change has become the norm.

· Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in an environment were working to tight deadlines, multi-tasking and an ability to prioritise work flow is essential

· Working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the primary needs of EUAA members and energy consumers more broadly are met.

· If working remotely, the ability to maintain a high level of performance.

WORKING ENVIRONMENTThe EUAA office is located in Melbourne, however being Melbourne based is not essential. The EUAA offers a highly flexible work environment including a hybrid approach of work from home-work from office balance. This is a permanent role of up to 37.5 hours per week. Some flexibility is available if the successful candidate is seeking a different environment, but weekly hours would need to be a minimum of 30 hours. These hours could be allocated as desired provided it meets EUAA operational requirements.
