Electricity Network Planning Expert This is a highly technical role that requires expertise in contemporary electricity network planning, asset management practices, and overarching markets. The successful candidate will lead the development of comprehensive strategic plans to assess network capabilities, identify areas of limitations, and develop network solutions and contingency plans. They will also be responsible for managing delivery of current and emerging non-network solutions required to reduce network demand and generation. In addition to their technical expertise, the candidate should have advanced commercial acumen, external stakeholder engagement, and understanding of regulatory models and new technologies. They should also be able to act as a technical subject matter expert for the business in all Network Planning matters and provide mentorship and guidance to team members. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience in Engineering, with extensive experience in electricity network analysis tools or relevant software such as Sincal, PSS/E, PowerFactory, and/or PSCAD. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python is highly desirable. They will also have detailed knowledge of National Electricity Rules, the energy markets, and relevant laws, regulations, rules, licenses, and agreements. The successful candidate will work on delivering real outcomes, including leading the planning for augmentation of the network to maintain bushfire safety compliance with Rapid Earth Fault Current Limiter (REFCL) technology, leading distribution loss factors, fault level forecasts, and development plans for HV and LV networks, and contributing to demand and energy forecasts.
