About the opportunity

Altrad are seeking an experienced Insulation Lead for a major oil & gas project in Darwin. This Darwin-based role is open to locals or those considering permanent relocation to the region and offers a Monday–Friday schedule, with opportunities for weekend work during the dry season. You will lead insulation teams and coordinate the delivery of coating and insulation scopes, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a chance to be part of a global organisation that invests in its people and empowers you to make an impact that truly matters. You'll work alongside a highly capable team, contributing to projects that shape industries, support communities, and create lasting value for our clients.

In this role, you will:

* Lead and drive the safe execution of insulation scopes of work and actively participate in pre-starts, HSE meetings and regular safety interactions.
* Manage and coordinate insulation discipline supervisors and workforce resources to ensure works are delivered efficiently, safely and in line with project priorities and schedules.
* Interface closely with clients, contractors, planners and schedulers to maintain a clear understanding of insulation activities, manage simultaneous operations and respond effectively to changing site demands.
* Oversee insulation fabrication, material availability, plant, equipment and tooling requirements, ensuring readiness across onsite and offsite activities.
* Drive productivity and efficiency through effective manning strategies, forward planning of rosters, and proactive management of workfronts and interfaces.
* Monitor progress and performance through regular meetings and review of project controls reports, enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement across safety, quality and delivery.

Whether you're leading on-site delivery or supporting strategic planning from head office, this is an opportunity to grow your career, enhance your expertise, and contribute to projects that make a real difference - all within an organisation that's serious about supporting your success.

About you

You're a hands-on, safety-focused leader who excels at guiding insulation teams and delivering high-quality outcomes on complex projects.

* Minimum 10 years' insulation experience, with a strong background in the energy, mining and/or construction sectors and hands-on site experience coordinating and executing scopes of work.
* Proven capability in scope execution management, including analysing and working to complex schedules within an engineering or contracting environment.
* Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role, with the ability to work proactively, both independently and within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team.
* Strong technical and systems capability, including experience with Navisworks (desirable), intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, and a high level of analytical skill and attention to detail.
* Highly articulate with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a broad range of on-site and off-site tasks as required.
