Place Design Group is looking for a Payroll & Accounts Manager to take ownership of our payroll, accounts, and treasury functions from our Brisbane Head Office. This is a pivotal role that goes beyond processing — you'll help drive smarter processes, strengthen compliance, and support the continued growth of our national business.
Reporting directly to the CFO, and working within our National Operations Team, you'll manage end-to-end payroll and all associated compliance lodgments with confidence and precision. While Brisbane-based, you'll work closely with our broader operations team and become a trusted partner to the Leadership Team across the business. Your proactive mindset, positive energy, and commitment to efficiency will make you a natural fit within our collaborative team.

What You'll Be Doing
Every day will be a little different, but here's a taste of what you'll get stuck into:
End to end payroll of up to 130 staff (Xero)
Compliance lodgements (BAS, PAYG, super, payroll tax etc)
End to end Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable and debt management
Cash flow updating and management
Assisting with month end entries and analysis
Balance Sheet reconciliations
Leave reconciliations
Supplier management
Debit / Credit card management
About You
Essential Skills and Experience:
Tertiary qualification or QBE
Min. 5 year's exp in a similar role – demonstrated understanding and proficiency of end-to-end payroll in a medium organisation
Proficiency with Xero / Xero payroll / Hubdoc
Experience within a project or professional services based industry
Proficiency with Excel & other MS Office Programs
Professional Attributes:
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong stakeholder management skills
High level attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Trustworthy and punctual
The ability to problem solve and provide fast and effective solutions
The ability to work autonomously and proactively
Australian resident with no VISA restrictions
