Variety - the Children's Charity is South Australia's leading children's charity with a clear mission to help kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability. As Function Coordinator, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Reporting to and working alongside the Events manager, and Events Committee to deliver a suite of some of SA's most prestigious private functions such as the famous Variety Ball and our Kids Christmas Party. The core purpose of this position is to contribute and continue our wonderful reputation in delivery major events and functions that underpin our fundraising. You will drive administrative functions and the revenue stream which supports the work Variety does for children.
This role requires:
- Part-time, 30 hours across agreed days 
- Coordinate and lead a diverse functions calendar 
- Maintain key stakeholder relationships 
- A willingness to travel and attend events/ functions as required 
- A demonstrated proactive customer service attitude 
- Ability to work under tight deadlines on high profile and results-orientated tasks 
- Demonstrated knowledge of databases and online fundraising research tools 
- Current SA Drivers licence - must have access to own vehicle 
- Working with Children Check 
- Eligibility to work in Australia on a permanent basis
Ideally you will have:
- Proven administrative and events coordination experience in a similar role 
- Strong organisational and time management skills and attention to detail 
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Event/ Function disciplines or equivalent work experience 
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
- A passion for making a difference to Aussie kids and their families
