About This Role
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging and rewarding trade role. You will be assisting in planning, supervising, and undertaking the installation, repair, modification, commissioning, and fabrication of steel metal components and associated materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture all types of sheet metal work from drawings in various types of metals
* Plan and coordinate tasks with manager and team members to meet schedule and budget requirements
* Ensure work conforms to specifications and appropriate standards
* Communicate complex trade information regarding progress of the job to other personnel and customers
About You
* Experience in all aspects of manufacturing and repair methods
* Willingness to undertake multi-skilled activities in all aspects of ship repair and maintenance work
* Sound verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of welding processes would be an advantage
* A strong commitment towards maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy working environment
Working Requirements
You will be working within a Defence precinct, which requires applicants to be Australian citizens eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. A pre-employment police check and medical are also required prior to any job offer.
