🧩 About your role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team.
Working in a varied capacity alongside an established accounting team, you will form part of the heart and soul of our practice.
⚡️ Key duties including (but not limited to):
* Preparation of financial statements for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and SMSF
* Preparation of income tax returns for Individuals, Companies, Trusts, and SMSF
* Preparation of BAS, IAS, FBT, Payroll Tax Returns, etc.
* Preparation of management reports
* Bookkeeping and accounts reconciliation
* Tax planning
* Tax advice
* Processing payroll
* Attending to tax audits (ie. income tax, GST, super, payroll tax, land tax, etc.)
* Stay abreast of Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and industry trends
* Direct client contact.
👩🏻💻 Skills and experience
* Minimum 2+ years in similar role within an Australian accounting firm
* Knowledge of tax compliance
* Knowledge of payroll tax for all States and Territories
* Knowledge of payroll and salary packaging
* Knowledge of labour hire licensing for ACT, QLD, SA, and VIC
* Experience in MS Office, Xero and Now Infinity would be highly regarded
* Completed a University Accounting degree
* Completed or pursuing a CPA qualification
* A warm and friendly approach, both polished and personable
* Have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
* Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and to help others
* Proven multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills
* Have a sense of urgency to complete tasks, with an eye for detail
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Responsible and reliable work ethic
* Calm under pressure with a \"can do\" attitude.
* This is an office-based position as it requires client facing.
