About the Opportunity
Due to growth, we are currently looking for experienced Sign Installers to join our Melbourne team on a full time basis. This is a varied and exciting role in terms of types, size, and locations of installation projects. Our clients expect a high quality job every time, so high quality workmanship is essential. Being able to install vinyl and indoor retail signs and/or the ability to install larger outdoor signs like light boxes and pylons will be desirable but not essential.
Candidates must have 3-5 years of sign installation experience to be considered for this position. The main purpose of the role is to help in the delivery and installation our custom created signage.
Responsibilities
- Clarify and confirm installation requirements as necessary
- Pack & load vehicles safely & securely
- Ensure field paperwork and administrative activities are fulfilled timely and accurately
- Ensure material handling, product and documentation is accurate
- Ensure the highest quality workmanship, so that the product is installed correctly as per job details provided
- Liaise with clients on-site
- Site audits and measure using the organization's best practice methods to maintain costs within job budget
- Help estimate and maintain cost within job budgets
- Perform inspection and quality assurance on installations, communicating defects to Management
- Take lead on larger install projects, and when required supervise a team of installers and ensure the installation is done smoothly, on time, at high quality, and within budgets
- Ensure PPE is always worn as required and available at all times
- Shift works, night work, and weekend work if and when required
- Travel to regional Victoria if and when required
- Occasional interstate travel may be required
- Work with the factory team when not working on installations onsite
The role requires availability for shift work, nights, and weekends approximately 10-25% of the time as business needs dictate.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficient in the use of hand tools – drills, saws, routers and other job-specific equipment
- Previous experience in installing light boxes, pylon signs, vinyl signs, directional signs and LED/Neon signs is highly desirable but not essential
- Experience with LEDs, Transformers, and Low Voltage Wiring also highly desirable but not essential
- Must have or must secure White Card and EWP Tickets
- Must hold suitable licences and accreditation. These are highly desirable: White Card, Contractors Card, Forklift and MR License, Crane Truck Licence, High Risk Works Ticket.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Must be flexible to work shiftwork and weekends if and when required
- Must be able to follow instructions and company / site hierarchy.
- Strong planning and time management skills
- Knowledge of WH&S; practices
- Applicants must possess a White Card and current Australian Driver's Licence at the time of application, with EWP Tickets required to be obtained upon hiring.
- Prior experience in a similar signage work place is sought after.
