Position Title: Payroll Officer
Level and Salary: Salary: Level 3/4 $79,156 -$92,057 + superannuation + other benefits (Anticipated increase to $83,114 - $96,660 per annum upon General Agreement registration)

Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information: An opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a busy and collaborative Human Resources team within the Parliamentary Services Department. The small payroll team is responsible for delivering all aspects of the payroll processing services and responding to day-to-day queries.
About the Role
The key responsibilities will be to provide end-to-end timely and accurate fortnightly payroll processing for approximately 350 staff and Members of Parliament using our Micropay Payroll software system. This includes timesheet processing; termination and long service calculations; submitting fortnightly STP reports to the ATO; superannuation payments and ad‑hoc reporting as required.
About You
You will need to demonstrate a strong customer service focus, high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively to provide an efficient payroll service.

Essential Selection Criteria
* Completion of year 12
* At least 3 years' experience in a payroll processing (end-to-end) role
* Basic understanding of accounting standards and practices including banking processes
* Advanced computer skills in spreadsheets and Microsoft Word
* Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information and act with discretion
* Proven ability to understand and apply industrial instruments, legislation, policies and procedures
* Willingness to support and embrace PSD's Values
Highly Desirable
* Experience with Micropay
* Experience using a records management system
* Experience with ConnX (HRIS)
