Electrical Operations and Maintenance Specialist
To ensure the effective and efficient operation of solar farms or battery storage, this role involves performing electrical and mechanical works as required. On-site work in all electrical areas is necessary to guarantee compliance with electrical standards and optimal performance.
This position contributes to a safe workplace through the development, improvement, and review of safe systems of work (SSoW). The recording and reporting of all works must be done in line with these systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation and operation of Solar farms or Battery storage according to policies and procedures.
* Ensuring adherence to works schedule to meet asset uptime requirements.
* Interaction with 3rd party contract works on site.
* Input into future works planning and scheduling.
* Assisting in the implementation of safety and electrical policies.
* Performing Quality and Safety Inspections/Audits.
* Contributing to variations, estimates, and approvals.
* Actively participating in electrical and mechanical activities.
* Documenting all work and generating reports as required.
* Collecting data and preparing reports to meet reporting requirements.
* Using available tools to monitor energy output and responding quickly to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and/or corrective action.
* Maintaining effective communication with Site Supervisor, O&M Managers, and Main contractors.
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities:
* Understanding and carrying out activities in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
* Operating in accordance with approved policy and procedural requirements.
* Conducting risk assessments in area of responsibility with assistance from HSE subject matter expert (SME).
* Generating, implementing, and auditing against Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) in consultation with team members.
* Promoting a healthy work environment for all employees.
Your Profile:
* A valid driver's license.
* An electrical certification/license.
* HV Electrical Certification/Experience (Preferred).
* OHS Certification (Preferred).
* The ability to understand and operate technical and business computer software packages.
* The ability to read and understand Electrical & Mechanical schematics/drawings.
* Electrical Isolation (LOTO) procedures - LV.
* HSE: Constant awareness, reporting risks and hazards → attending meetings; raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs);
* Previous experience in utility solar construction.
* Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
* Self-motivation, punctuality, diligence, honesty.
* Flexible working arrangements - nights, weekends, holidays as required.
