Job Description Position Title: APS6 Property and Security Officer Employment Type: Labour hire contract (approx. 4 months with potential extension) Location: Canberra, ACT Hourly Pay Rate: $***** per hour + 12% superannuation Security Clearance / Requirements: NV1 clearance required ABOUT THE ROLE An Australian Government agency is seeking an experienced APS6 Property and Security Officer to support the delivery of security and property functions.
This role involves managing security clearances, ensuring compliance with government security frameworks and overseeing property-related activities and projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform security adviser functions as delegated by the Chief Security Officer, working collaboratively with the Service Manager Manage security clearances and liaise with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Ensure compliance and assurance within the security governance framework, including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) Oversee the management of departmental property, including repairs and maintenance, liaison with landlords and outsourced providers, and management of security access (building, floor and car parking passes) Manage security and property-related projects, including procurement activities, contractor management and stakeholder engagement Contribute to strategic planning and assist with the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies, procedures and SOPs Prepare and maintain property and security reporting, including environmental reporting (OSCAR, Waste Disposal – NPC) and the Australian Government Office Property Data Collection (PRODAC) SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including the Protective Security Policy Framework and Commonwealth Procurement Rules, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders Experience in contract management, negotiation and resolving service delivery issues Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn security and building maintenance systems Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment ELIGIBILITY Australian citizenship is mandatory Successful candidates must hold a minimum NV1 clearance Apply now or contact Angel Malkovich at SOS Recruitment for a confidential discussion.
