About the Role
Maintaining, testing, and repairing diesel engines and mechanical components is crucial for the smooth operation of farming activities. As a farm diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for detecting and diagnosing faults in diesel engines and mechanical systems, dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair.

* Detect and diagnose faults in diesel engines and mechanical systems.
* Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair.
* Repair or replace worn and defective parts, reassemble mechanical components, and consult service manuals as needed.
* Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal performance and compliance with environmental regulations.
* Reassemble engines and components following repairs, ensuring all systems are properly aligned and functioning.
* Test and adjust mechanical parts post-repair to verify performance and reliability.
* Use diagnostic tools and computer systems to identify issues and verify repairs.
* Inspect vehicles and machinery for roadworthiness and issue certificates or provide detailed reports on required repairs.
