Position Summary
The Software Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions tailored to the company's insurance operations. The role collaborates with cross‐functional teams to understand business requirements, architect scalable and efficient software systems, and ensures the reliability and security of applications. They contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and ongoing support, and stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to the insurance domain.

Job Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain software applications, systems, and solutions related to insurance products, processes, and services.
* Design and implement software architecture that aligns with business objectives and technical requirements by designing scalable and reliable systems.
* Analyze technical requirements, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions to enhance efficiency, performance, and reliability of software systems.
* Collaborate with cross‐functional teams, including business analysts, actuaries, underwriters, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and communicate project status and updates effectively.
* Document software designs, technical specifications, and development processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, security protocols, and data privacy regulations governing the insurance industry.
* Integrate various software systems, platforms, and third‐party services to streamline insurance processes, such as policy management, underwriting, claims processing, and customer relationship management.
* Develop and execute test plans, conduct automated and manual testing to ensure quality, accuracy, and reliability of software applications in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing software applications and systems used in insurance operations.
Work Experience and Education
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology is preferred, though other related disciplines or commensurate work experience will also be considered.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree.
Licenses & Certifications
* Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
* Professional Software Developer Certification (PSDC)
* Certified Software Engineer (CSE)
