Our client in the FMCG sector is seeking a **Logistics Lead** to be based at their distribution centre in south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

**The Key Responsibilities**:
**Distribution Centre Management**
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Support Contractor Management processes
- Plan and evaluate warehouse activities in line with associated costs and budgets
- Support the review, development, coordination and communication of warehouse SOPs / SWPs
**Systems and Inventory Management**
- Review compiled inventory reports and adjust future plans accordingly
- Support the development of KPI's to measure the effectiveness of the inventory operations
- Monitor inventory levels and inventory movement using manual and/or computerised inventory systems
- Support the planning, organization, and evaluation of inventory activities and associated costs/budgets
- Support the identification of process and systems competencies / shortfalls that exist within the VIC Supply Chain
**Transport Management**
- Complete periodic customer visits and investigate and provide solutions for any customer risks or issues
- Customer Service (Internal & External) - DIFOT, service tickets, cash variances
- Build strong rapport and relationships with all key sales and customer stakeholders to enable safe and efficient outcomes
- Support the management of transport providers to the agreed terms within their delivery contract including the Management KPI's
- Work with national procurement to complete and Regional Contractor renewals. Develop and implement and vendor changeovers
- Work closely with Local sales teams in providing delivery solutions to assist winning contracts and business
**About You**
- Similar experience in FMCG / related industry
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Leadership skills and the ability to manage staff / budgets and targets
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to partner and manage the relationship with third party suppliers / 3PL
- Experience generating solutions and initiatives to ensure continuous service performance
- Change management experience and the ability to illustrate leading and influencing team through periods of major change
