Your Role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
The Research Assistant coordinates the collection and processing of clinical trial central lab specimens.
Position
* To complete data entry per clinical trial requirements.
* To ensure all essential documentation is collected and updated for new and existing clinical trials.
* To manage the receipt, processing and shipment of biological samples.
* To monitor the status of laboratory and clinical equipment and stock levels, and to order laboratory consumables as required.
* Assist relevant caregivers in preparation and during internal and external trial audits.
* Updating clinical trial unit databases as required.
* Other general laboratory and administrative responsibilities as required.
* All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor.
Qualifications
You will hold a suitable higher degree (BSc or equivalent), with experience in conducting service provision or research in a laboratory. You will have demonstrated experience in handling and processing clinical samples and processing queries. To be successful, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups of people within the clinical and medical research community. In addition, you will be proficient in using aseptic technique and in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Benefits
* Salary: $68,939 to $78,011 (pro‑rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation.
* A 12‑month fixed term part‑time position working 38 hours a fortnight.
