Orthoptist Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Orthoptist to join our Paediatric Surgery – Ophthalmology team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality ophthalmic care, investigating and managing paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility conditions, contributing to the effective and efficient operation of Ophthalmology outpatient clinics, and participating in community outreach clinics to expand access to specialist screening services within metropolitan Adelaide.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive eye care services to children with a range of ophthalmic conditions.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of patient care.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical programs and initiatives.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
* A degree or Master's Degree qualification in Orthoptics which entitles registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB).
* 2 years of paediatric ophthalmology experience post-qualification.
* Experience in paediatric orthoptics; strabismus, amblyopia, ocular motility, refractive error and assessment of children with visual impairments.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
