As the Orthopaedic Clinical Speciality Coordinator your responsibilities will include: · Monitor theatre lists within specialty and liaise with specialty Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) or doctor’s rooms to ensure material resources are available · Coordinate theatre equipment, consumables, instruments with accuracy and in a cost-effective manner · Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment · Work clinically to support VMO and staff (60% Clinical 40% administration) – flexibility to work AM/PM dependant on operational requirements · Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team · Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National standards Essential Criteria: · Current Registration with AHPRA · Knowledge of Australian College of Operating Room Nurses Standards (ACORN) and awareness of legislative requirements · Registered Nurse with at least 5 years’ experience in theatre particularly in orthopaedics · Demonstrated management experience · Proven experience in building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach · Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication skills including advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills. · High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases · Ability to work cohesively within a team environment Desirable Criteria: · Tertiary post graduate qualifications in a relevant Nursing specialty · A demonstrated understanding of Work, Health and Safety legislation. · A demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality improvement, change management, models of care, evidence-based practice and practise development.
