Job Title: Financial Accountant
**About the Role**
The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing Legal Aid's financial accounting, including preparing financial statements and ensuring day-to-day transactions are recorded in line with relevant accounting standards.
This role will also assist with the payroll function and contribute to the strategic direction of the Commission.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage Legal Aid's financial accounting, including preparing financial statements and recording transactions in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
* Assist with the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages.
* Contribute to the development of the Commission's strategic plan, providing financial insights and recommendations.
* Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective implementation of financial policies and procedures.
* Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements:**
* Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance (e.g. CPA, CA)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting or a related field
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
