Team Summary:
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be part of the Tech Squad to execute the exciting Visa offers exchange and instant card issuance Program. You will work on cutting-edge technology and play a pivotal role in advancing the bank's engineering practices. Your responsibilities include building and coaching others to develop and automate testing of robust, adaptable, and production-ready code. Collaborating with other developers, your work will enhance the digital banking experience for customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with collaborative teams and technology vendors to support integration on the roadmap, implementing scalable systems aligned with standards and guidelines.
* Automate DevOps processes across the platform.
* Deliver projects according to plan and schedule.
* Track and document the lifecycle of platform, database, and middleware infrastructure.
* Represent the middleware team in change management reviews and approve planned changes.
* Define system integrations, design patterns, and development standards for scalable, flexible solutions.
* Partner with Operations to create/update standard procedures and reporting.
* Coach engineers and team members to enhance capabilities.
* Focus on personal development, especially soft skills, ambiguity management, and problem-solving.
Projects and Location:
This role is based in Sydney, Australia, in a hybrid work environment (minimum 3 days in the office per week). You will be embedded within the client's wider business and technical teams to oversee project implementation from inception to deployment.
Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Preferred Experience:
* Experience with web projects and managing web-views for mobile app integration; familiarity with Angular or React is beneficial.
* 8+ years in web-based architecture using Java 8, Java 11, Java EE (EJB, JAX-RS), JSON, APIs, Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate.
* Experience with relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
* Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming tech and microservices architecture.
* Hands-on with Linux and middleware technologies.
* Knowledge of tools across the software delivery lifecycle (testing, mocking, Git, CI, work tracking, defect management).
* Training and certifications in cloud, DevOps, and middleware are advantageous.
* Quick learner with strong research and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and solve complex problems.
