Reporting to the HR Manager and working as part of a small team at our Port Botany terminal, you will be responsible for providing advice and support to leaders on a broad range of people-related matters.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Resolve a broad range of employee queries.
2. Lead the recruitment process for all roles at the terminal (up to and including mid-level management).
3. Provide advice to leaders on the interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements, Awards and relevant legislation.
4. Support leaders in managing performance issues and disciplinary matters.
5. Conduct investigations into complaints and grievances.
6. Ensure compliance to Company policy, procedure and processes.
7. Coordinate HR initiatives and projects including engagement activities and recognition events etc.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. Tertiary qualification/s in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.
2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a HR generalist in a blue-collar, industrial environment.
3. Knowledge of HR policies, systems and processes.
4. A strong customer service focus, with the ability to build and nurture quality relationships.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with individuals at all organisational levels.
6. A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
7. Excellent organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
8. Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion.
9. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
