With strong continued growth and a national project pipeline, our client is seeking a capable and adaptable Senior Accountant to join their team. The Opportunity This is a newly created role, offering the right candidate a unique opportunity to take ownership of the position and build processes and systems that will support the business as it continues to grow. Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll have a wide scope from day-to-day financial management to commercial reporting and play an integral role in supporting project delivery and business decisions. We're looking for someone who is open-minded, hands-on, and happy to roll up their sleeves a team player who understands that no task is too big or too small when it comes to helping the business move forward. Key Responsibilities Daily bookkeeping and accounting Monthly payroll for employees (45) Invoicing & time-sheet management Project performance reporting Processing creditor invoices Preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements - ATO Preparation and lodgement of company income tax return Processing quarterly superannuation Contract management CFO reporting - Budgeting & cash-flow management Accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations Prepare financial reports, month-end and year-end statements Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs and financial performance Identify and implement improvements in financial systems and processes Support annual audits and liaise with external advisors Ideal Candidate Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline CPA or CA qualified (or near completion) 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within construction, surveying, engineering or infrastructure Comfortable working both at a strategic level and in the detail Strong knowledge of project/job costing Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, or similar) and advanced Excel A collaborative, proactive attitude with strong attention to detail What’s on Offer Opportunity to shape a newly created role and make it your own Be part of a reputable surveying firm with a strong pipeline of Tier 1 projects Supportive leadership team and inclusive, grounded company culture Competitive salary and benefits Career growth and professional development pathways Flexible working arrangements available Ready to take ownership of your next role?
